How Long Does a Bathroom Remodel Take in Central Florida?

Frameless glass steam shower with marble tile and pendant chandelier, bathroom remodel by Line Flooring How Long Does a Bathroom Remodel T

Most homeowners planning a bathroom remodel want one number: how many weeks. The honest answer is “it depends,” but here's what a typical full remodel actually looks like, week by week.

Week 1: Demo and rough-in

Old fixtures, tile, and vanity come out first. If plumbing or electrical is being relocated, this is when rough-in work happens — and when a permit inspection is usually required before covering the walls back up.

Week 2: Waterproofing and tile

Shower pans and walls get waterproofed before any tile goes up. Tile setting and grouting typically take several days on their own, especially for a full shower surround plus floor.

Week 3: Vanity, fixtures, and finish work

Vanity installation, countertop, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and paint happen toward the end of the project, once the wet work is fully cured.

What actually causes delays

The two most common causes of a bathroom remodel running long are custom material lead times (a specific tile or vanity on backorder) and permit inspection scheduling, not the labor itself. Building in a buffer for both is the difference between a 2-week estimate and a 4-week reality.

Our general rule

Most full bathroom renovations we complete in Central Florida run 2–4 weeks from demo to final walkthrough. Simpler tub-to-shower conversions can move faster; full layout changes with plumbing relocation run toward the longer end.
